Dr Lisa Warren

Advisor in Threat Management and Behavioural Aggression

Dr Lisa Warren is a registered Clinical and Forensic Psychologist. She is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychiatry at Monash University and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science at Swinburne University. Dr Warren is the Director of Code Black Threat Management, an agency specialising in behavioural aggression management in the education, government and corporate sectors.

Dr Warren’s field of expertise is behavioural risk management and the management of those who persistently aggress. This includes those who stalk, bully, harass, threaten and persistently misuse complaints processes. Her research has examined those who threaten to kill. She has studied those convicted of the offence of threat to kill, those referred for forensic mental health intervention post threatening, and the epidemiology of threats to kill among homicide offenders. Current projects include population-based studies of threateners in collaboration with the Karolinska Institut in Sweden and a review of threat management practices with the FBI in the United States. Dr Warren’s research team in Australia is currently examining the association between homicide and suicide.

Dr Warren is a pioneer in the threat management field in Australia being the Foundation Manager of the world renowned Problem Behaviour Program at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health (Forensicare) and the Foundation President of the Asia Pacific Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (APATAP). Dr Warren has collaborated with the European Threat Assessment Professionals (AETAP) on professional standards for threat managers and has presented at the American Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) conference.
