Gcore took part at Peering Asia 2.0 for the first time

Peering Asia is an Asian peering forum. It was held in Hong Kong on October 24 and 25 for the second time. The purpose of the event was peering development and expansion of networking in the Pacific region.

We had a chance to meet with our long-time partners, get acquainted and negotiate peering with new providers, but most importantly, we introduced Gcore to the largest service providers in Asia.

Our company was represented by Jens Osterloh, our network architect, who is in charge of the network development strategy.

“In 2016, I visited Asia Peering Forum hosted by Equinix. Thanks to that trip, I learned about a little-known data center in Tokyo which ideally suited our needs.

I participated in Peering Asia for the first time. The event is valuable because in a couple of days you can personally meet with all the major Internet providers in Asia which sometimes are very difficult to contact by email.”

Pacific region is one of the most promising global markets for online businesses. With a population of 1.2 billion people, rapidly growing traffic and increasing level of Internet penetration Asia is already the largest e-commerce market in the world, where more than 40 % of all online shoppers are coming from.

The main benefits from such events for us are the new contacts, inside looks on the industry’s development, future plans of our partners and providers, which you can obtain “from the first hands.”

Therefore, we are going to be supporting the development of network connectivity in Asia, adding new points there and delighting customers with a first-class performance and favorable plans.
