How we sustained traffic spikes during the biggest fight of 2018

The biggest fight of 2018 between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Connor McGregor took place in Las Vegas on Saturday, October 6.

By the beginning of the fight 2.5 million pay-per-view buys were generated.

Among our clients were those broadcasting the controversial fight live. And yet again they found confirmation of power, reliability of our network and its readiness for peak traffic loads. Traffic peak during the fight reached almost 2 Tbps.

Total traffic during the fight broadcast (~2 Tbps)

Traffic spikes in our content delivery network occur both after our customers releases and during upsurges in spectator interest in sporting events. This summer we helped broadcast the matches of 2018 FIFA World Cup in peak mode.
