Unveiling new cutting-edge security features: API for DDoS Protection and Secure Transit

Weā€™re excited to announce the launch of two groundbreaking security features that enhance protection and efficiency for Gcore Edge Security customers: the API for DDoS Protection and Secure Transit.

API for DDoS Protection

The new API for DDoS Protection allows customers to manage their DDoS protection settings using the API, moving away from the previous process, which required coordination with Gcore technical support. This self-management capability enables customers to react quickly to DDoS attacks or changes in their infrastructure, integrating their own monitoring and management tools with Gcore DDoS Protection.

Andrey Slastenov, Product Manager of DDoS Protection at Gcore, explains that the API operates on three major principles: adaptive attack mitigation, minimal latency impact, and ease of configuration. ā€œThe API for DDoS Protection is designed to provide seamless integration with our clientsā€™ existing systems. By leveraging our advanced engineering capabilities, weā€™ve ensured that this feature maintains optimal performance with minimal delay.”

Key benefits include:

  • Self-management: Adjust your protection parameters without needing to contact Gcore, facilitating quicker responses to threats.
  • Integration: Integrate Gcore DDoS Protection directly with your existing infrastructure, such as intrusion detection systems, enhancing overall security.

Secure Transit

In addition to the DDoS Protection API, weā€™re introducing Secure Transit to optimize network traffic management. Secure Transit is engineered to improve the efficiency of data routing and provide the lowest possible latency for global access to Gcore Edge Security services.

ā€œSecure Transit allows for fast, worldwide access to our DDoS protection services,ā€ Slastenov explains. ā€œThis is particularly important for real-time services such as online gaming, where delay can significantly impact user experience.ā€

Secure Transit uses Gcore CDN to minimize processing delays, delivering traffic to servers efficiently. This results in an enhanced end-user experience, as the delay between command input and response is significantly reduced, cutting down latency.

Key benefits include:

  • Reduced latency: Thanks to the use of Gcore CDN, end users experience low latency, which is crucial for real-time services.
  • Global accessibility: Access DDoS protection services from any location with the lowest possible latency.
