In the first quarter of 2021, we opened eight new Gcore CDN points of presence. We continue to build our network capacities at the same pace.
In the second quarter, we launched six more new locations and optimized work in one that already existed.
More than 35 million internet users live in Canada. So this year, we launched the long-awaited CDN location in Toronto.
With the new PoP, our customers will be able to deliver content in Canada at an average speed of under 30 ms.
We’ve said before how challenging the region of Latin America can be in terms of network infrastructure. That’s why it’s important for us to expand our presence there as much as possible.
Eight locations have already been opened here, and we’re now launching a new node in Fortaleza.
We now have an excellent content delivery speed in Brazil—under 24 ms. This is faster than many of our competitors in terms of response time.
This year, Mongolia has also been added to the list of countries where our CDN operates. We’ve launched the first location in its capital, Ulaanbaatar.
The new node will help reduce response times throughout East Asia. In Mongolia itself, we already deliver content at a speed of under 6 ms.
Azerbaijan is another new country on the coverage map of our CDN. We’ve launched a location in Baku, and are already getting good results in terms of speed. The average response time in Azerbaijan is now around 38 ms.
We’ve continued to expand our CDN network capacity in the Middle East by launching a new node in Muscat, the capital of Oman. This is our first location opened in the Middle East this year.
More than 4 million internet users who are residents of Oman will now receive content faster. The new point of presence provides an average response time of under 21 ms.
This year, we’ve improved the performance in many locations across Latin America and increased network capacity in Novosibirsk, Istanbul, and Tel Aviv.
In the second quarter of 2021, we optimized one more node—in Melbourne, Australia.
Now the average response time there is around 22 ms.
We’re going to actively increase the network capacity of our CDN in the quarters 3 and 4 of 2021.
The short-term plans include launching locations in Yemen, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Jordan, and Egypt, and improving performance in Latin America. And that’s not all.
We regularly open new points of presence and optimize the performance of those already launched so that our customers’ web applications work as quickly as possible.
