8 new CDN points of presence

The year 2021 started very productively for Gcore CDN. In three months, we added 8 new locations in different regions of the world and improved the performance in those already launched.

CDN in Europe

The first European point of presence this year was in Bucharest, the capital of Romania. More than 14 million people use the Internet in that country.

Thanks to the new node, our customers will be able to deliver content in Romania and other Southeastern European countries even faster.

Plans for new locations in Europe

Our CDN has excellent coverage in Europe. But this region is still one of the priorities in terms of development.

In the near future, we plan to open new locations in Serbia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, and Sweden.

CDN in Japan

This year we opened a second location in Japan, in the city of Osaka.

Japan has the 7th-largest number of Internet users in the world. And we strive for the best CDN performance in this country.

Plans for new locations in Asia

More than half of the world’s Internet users live in Asia. And we are constantly expanding our presence in this part of the world.

Plans for the near future include the launch of locations in Taipei and Bangkok.

CDN in Brazil

Latin America is one of the most problematic regions of the world in terms of network infrastructure. To reduce delays, this year we plan to have at least 5 new points of presence there. And we have already launched the first of them in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro.

Brazil ranks 5th in terms of the number of Internet users. Just under 150 million people are connected to the network.

Despite all the challenges regarding network infrastructure development in Latin America, we have already managed to significantly reduce the response time in Brazil.

The diagram shows how much the delays have decreased since the launch of the new location.

The average response time in Brazil is now around 23 ms.

Plans for new locations in South America

In the near future, we plan to launch new PoPs in Fortaleza and Porto Alegre in Brazil, as well as in Quito (Ecuador) and Guatemala.

This year we launched new locations in Moldova, Georgia, and Armenia.

CDN in Moldova

Gcore CDN is now also available in Moldova. We have launched a location in Chisinau, and we can already report excellent performance. The average response time in Moldova is 5 ms.

CDN in Georgia

Another new location is Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. Now in this country, content is delivered with delays of no more than 8 ms.

CDN in Armenia

Armenia is now part of our global network as well. We have launched a CDN location in Erevan and have already achieved record-low response times. The average latency in Armenia is 2 ms.

CDN in Kyrgyzstan

Another new point of our CDN presence this year is Bishkek. More than 3 million people use the Internet in Kyrgyzstan. Launching a PoP in its capital, a city with more than a million people, was an important step in the development of our network in Central Asia.

Thanks to the new CDN node, the response time in Kyrgyzstan is now around 57 ms.

Network capacity expansion

We not only launch new CDN locations, but also improve the performance of those already in operation.

This year, we increased our network capacity in Novosibirsk, Istanbul, and Tel Aviv.

In Turkey, we have improved our performance many times over. We now deliver content with delays of no more than 16 ms.

Excellent response times were also achieved in Israel. The average latency there is within 10 ms.
