Bandwidth

Bandwidth is the maximum network speed available to compute resources. The available bandwidth depends on the resource type. The network specifications table lists bandwidth limits by VM type.
  • Basic VMs: up to 200 Mbps
  • Cloud Virtual Instances (Standard, CPU-Optimized, Memory-Optimized, and other non-Basic flavors): up to 1 Gbps
  • Network optimised Virtual Instances: up to 5 or 10 Gbps, depending on flavor size
  • Bare Metal servers: 10 Gbps or higher, depending on the selected configuration
The value up to indicates the maximum achievable bandwidth. Actual throughput may vary depending on workload and network conditions. Gcore does not apply artificial throttling.

Traffic

Network traffic is the volume of data transferred to and from compute resources. For Virtual Machines, Gcore provides:
  • Unlimited traffic
  • Free incoming (ingress) traffic
  • Free outgoing (egress) traffic
Outgoing traffic for Bare Metal servers is billed separately, as described in Billing.

Recommendations

For workloads that require high, stable network performance, use Bare Metal servers with dedicated or bonded network interfaces (10 Gbps or higher) or Network optimised Virtual Instances.
