Source files stay on your origin. Optimized versions are created, cached, and delivered from the edge.

The cache for that CDN resource refreshes, so the first requests pull fresh images from your origin. On a busy site, turn it on during a quieter period, or with Origin Shielding already in place.

Delivery and pricing

JPG and PNG. Those can be delivered as WebP or AVIF when the visitor's browser supports the format. GIF, SVG, and other files are served unchanged.

Yes. Add URL parameters for width, height, crop, format, or quality. Those parameters override the rules set on the CDN resource, and the file on your origin stays the same.

Visitors still get the original. That covers unsupported files, browsers that cannot use WebP or AVIF, and cases where the optimized version would be larger than the source.

The first 10,000 optimizations each month are included across your account. After that, each additional 10,000 costs €1.
