Summer 2024 Roundup: Highlights from Gcore

This summer has been anything but quiet at Gcore. Here’s a look at the latest news, key partnerships, and innovative products we rolled out over the past few months.

Company News

We hit a major milestone with the successful completion of our Series A fundraiser, marking a major milestone for Gcore. This funding will accelerate our growth in AI-driven innovation, enabling us to bring cutting-edge services to more global customers.

GigaOm recognized Gcore as a leader and outperformer for edge development in 2024. This recognizes our ongoing efforts to deliver high-performance solutions to customers worldwide.

In security, our comprehensive Q1–Q2 Gcore Radar report, released in August, delivers in-depth insights into the state of the DDoS attack landscape. Discover which industries are targeted most often, what’s changed in the past six months, and be empowered to make informed decisions about your DDoS mitigation strategy.

Product Updates

Our big launch of the summer was Gcore Container Registry. This solution is designed to provide secure, scalable, and efficient management of container images, making it easier for developers to build, deploy, and manage their applications.

FastEdge saw significant updates, with improvements to speed, security, and resilience. Our streaming solution also received a number of updates this summer. In July, we introduced advanced features designed to boost video quality and reliability, followed by an August update focused on latency reduction and overall performance improvements.

Blog Catchup

Summer is the perfect time for reading, but if you were more sand-encrusted paperbacks than tech trends and security deep dives, you might have missed three new blog series that we kicked off in July. With security, cloud, and streaming topics to choose from, now’s the time to catch up on our coverage of the latest tech trends. All these series are ongoing so keep an eye on our blog for the next installments!

Ahead of our WAAP product launch next week, we began a blog series on the importance of web application and API protection. This series covers key insights on how WAAP solutions mitigate risks and protect modern web applications.

Our sovereign cloud series focuses on the critical need for data sovereignty in today’s cloud ecosystem. It explores the challenges and solutions associated with ensuring data stays within defined legal borders. We started by asking where your cloud is and why it matters. In part two we looked at how you can keep data local for your global business operations. And part three looks at how this applies to AI, with a dive into training in the sovereign cloud and deploying at the local edge.

The first installment of our 2025 trends and predictions series looks at AI-driven innovations in video streaming. From personalization to reducing latency, discover how AI is reshaping the future of streaming.

AI and Kubernetes Ebook

We released a new ebook, Accelerating AI with Kubernetes, which delves into the integration of AI and Kubernetes and provides strategies for businesses to optimize their AI infrastructure. Download it here or get a taster of the topic with our blog on reasons to use Kubernetes for AI inference.

Never Miss a Gcore Update

For many of us, the weather is cooling, and the nights are drawing in, but it’s not all doom and gloom from here on out. The next season brings very exciting things for Gcore, and we hope it does for you too. We’re excited to bring you along on this journey—even if we might have to wear some more layers to keep warm!
