CDN in Asia
Asia is one of the most important regions for content delivery. According to Internet World Stats, half of all internet users in the world live there.
India
Mumbai is our first point of presence in India. We launched it in 2020.
India ranks 2nd in the world in terms of the number of internet users, with 560 million people connected to the web.
The new location allows our customers to deliver content to millions of users even faster.
Bangladesh
Another new point of presence is the city of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. This country holds the 9th place in the world in terms of the number of internet users.
Our own CDN node allowed us to speed up the delivery of content in Asia in general. In Bangladesh itself, our network provides response times under 56 ms.
Plans for new locations in Asia
We continue to expand our network in Asia. The short-term plans include launching points in Taipei and Bangkok.
CDN in Latin America
More than 300 million people already use the internet in Latin America. To reduce delays in content delivery, we have expanded our network with new locations in Bogota (Colombia), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Santiago de Chile (Chile), Lima (Peru), and Mexico City (Mexico).
Superior performance
After new points of presence had been launched and optimized, Gcore network engineers were able to dramatically reduce response times in Latin America.
The expansion of the South American segment of the network allowed us to become the leaders in terms of the speed of content delivery in Argentina. The response time here is now about 24 ms.
Excellent speed was also achieved in Peru. Thanks to our network, content is delivered with delays of only 25 ms. Here, we have surpassed many of the world’s largest CDN providers.
Plans for new locations in Latin America
Latin America is one of the most problematic regions in the world in terms of network infrastructure. That’s why we have strengthened our presence here with 5 locations at once. In the near future, there will be 5 more: Rio de Janeiro, Fortaleza, and Porto Alegre in Brazil, as well as Quito (Ecuador) and Guatemala.
CDN in Europe
Our network in Europe has had excellent coverage from the start and, as a result, excellent performance. In 2020, we also launched CDN nodes in four more locations: Marseille (France), Budapest (Hungary), Sofia (Bulgaria), and Kharkiv (Ukraine).
France
In 2020, we opened the second point of presence in France after Paris—in Marseille.
France is one of the top 20 countries in the world by the number of internet users (17th place). More than 60 million people are connected to the internet in this country.
Our new PoP in Marseille will help accelerate content delivery. We are now optimizing its performance to achieve the best results.
Most of the European points of presence are located in the largest western cities. Therefore, we continue to actively develop our network in the eastern half of Europe.
Hungary
A new CDN node in Budapest has helped us reduce response times to 19 ms.
Bulgaria
We’ve managed to achieve incredible speed in Bulgaria. The average delay times in December 2020 reached a nearly all-time low of 3 ms.
Ukraine
The new location in Kharkiv allows us to deliver content to residents of Ukraine with an even shorter delay of 12 ms or less.
Plans for new locations in Europe
Despite its good coverage, Europe remains one of our priority regions in terms of growth. Very soon, we’ll open a PoP in Bucharest (Romania). In the near future, new locations will also appear in Serbia, Great Britain, Germany, Belgium, and Sweden.
CDN in the USA
We were actively developing our network in the USA in 2019, so in 2020 we focused on strengthening our presence in other regions. In the United States, only the McAllen PoP was launched.
Now the average response time in the USA is 22 ms.
Plans for new locations in the USA
In 2021, we plan to launch more points of presence: we’ll open CDN nodes in Minneapolis and Kansas.
